I’m new to ComponentOne suite of controls.
I’m looking for the ability to edit flat tabular databound data that gives me the ability to do data validation at the row level. ie the row is validated according to a combination of valid cell data
I would like to enable inline editing and creation of new rows via a new record row at the top of the grid. I would like the user to be able to click a tick or cross button that are also inline with the row, to indicate they are committing or aborting their row level edit.
I believe the DBGrid is the best control. Please advise if this is the case, and how to use the control to get the desired outcome as described above.
NB although the data is bound, it’s bound to objects, and does not talk directly to the database.
At the cell level, I would use check boxes, comboboxes, and potentially custom controls both for display and editing.
For the most part, I don’t need nested rows or tables, though it would be interesting to know how the advise changes if this is a requirement.
