Michael,

Let me begin by apologizing that you haven’t received a response yet. I have reviewed your inquiry and I have a few follow-up questions for you. I understand you originally ran your Report through your Local IIS server and noticed a run time of 2min 30 seconds. Then you deployed your application through the server and noticed almost identical run times. I don’t think that the viewer type makes a difference in the rendering time of the report. The ~10 second exporting time for generating a report with about 900+ pages sounds about right, although I am not sure I am able to address the time it takes for the adobe reader to open a 900+ document however. I am testing with a 100 page report and the performance is almost instant.

1) You would be correct
2) I would need to do some testing here to identify if it is normal behavior.
3) Follow-up will be required ( please shoot me an email at rossd@componentone.com )
4) I believe that would depend on many factors ( browser versions, machine speed, OS, etc). Generally speaking, running the report thru the OS apps will most likely be faster than any web apps

If you can shoot me that email, we can set up a GOTO meeting and I can address this issue further.

Thank you
