Hi Richa

I know from my own experience that loosing toolbox items is becoming more prevalent, almost anything that installs into the visual studio environment has the potential to disrupt the toolbox (I suspect because whoever wrote the various installation routines for said add-ons took the easy approach and chose to do a reset on the vs environment as opposed to making sure that existing settings were retained.

Speaking from experience, because I have tried it, doing a simple 'repair’ using the c1 installers will not conclusively reinstall missing toolbox items.

For one very small period (I think around 2008 v2 or 2009 v2) c1 actually released a small utility to restore the c1 toolboxes but it was never extended to new releases after that. If you could dig out that utility, adapt it to work with the current release and then try and persuade the powers that be to keep it up to date and ship it with future releases it has the potential to save a lot of folks a lot of time.

Personally I find losing the toolbox entries more of an annoyance that a complete disaster, but it does happen (and it’s certainly more prevalent in the newer editions of vs.
